Matthew Shea

Hi - I’m Matt. Originally from Lancaster, PA, I’m a DC/Baltimore-based actor, writer, voiceover artist, narrator, and - as required by law for all 30-something cis white men - podcaster. As an actor, I’ve worked all over the region in film and on stage at theaters such as Studio Theatre, Baltimore Center Stage, NextStop Theatre Company, and more. Previously, I was an Ensemble Member at Single Carrot Theatre in Baltimore from 2015 until the theater’s closure in 2023.

As a voiceover artist and narrator, you may recognize my voice from various radio ads in Baltimore and DC. I can also be heard narrating audiobooks, most recently GameDay: The Untold Story of College Football on Audible and Dreamland Lake for the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.

Since 2020 I have co-hosted the comedy podcast You Didn’t Ask For This with fellow DMV actor Eric Poch. I also serve as the show’s editor and producer. In addition to YDAFT, I co-created, produced, and performed in the parody true crime podcast Beneath the Headlines with fellow Single Carrot alums Paul Diem and Meghan Stanton Ziccardi. Both shows are available wherever you get your podcasts!

I live in Columbia, Maryland in a house with a pond. The pond is also home to a particularly rude goose. The goose and I are adversaries.
